Summary: His presentation will focus on his team's latest work on muscle mechanical properties related to performance and injury prevention (maximum muscle contraction speed, muscle-tendon interactions and energy dissipation, muscle elasticity related to muscle damage and injury).
Biography: Gaël GUILHEM heads the Sport Expertise and Performance Laboratory of the National Institute of Sport (INSEP), which has been certified as a "Research Centre for the Prevention of Injury and the Protection of Athletes' Health" by the International Olympic Committee. His research interests include the mechanisms responsible for the weakening of muscle tissue and the role of muscle-tendon interactions in athletic performance.
