Phanélie BERTHON
After a master in biochemistry, Phanelie Berthon did her doctorate in the exercise physiology laboratory at the University Jean Monnet, Faculty Jacques Lisfranc, Saint Etienne. She worked on muscle mitochondrial metabolism adaptation to training in elderly in relation to carnitine palmitoyltransferase enzymatic activity. Phanelie Berthon graduated in 1995 and then went to Guelph University (Canada) for a one year post-doctoral work on the same topic. In 1997, Phanelie Berthon obtained a temporary teaching position (ATER) for one year at Nantes University and the next year a lecturer position at Rennes 2 University. She collaborated on different studies about supramaximal exercise and catecholamine response as well as oestrogen receptors implication in endurance exercise. She was also involved in metabolic dysfunction studies in human and animals. In 2007, Phanelie Berthon moved to Savoie Mont Blanc University and had a huge investment in teaching tasks. She incorporated the Laboratoire Interuniversitaire de Biologie de la Motricité, always collaborating in metabolic dysfunction studies and more recently in centronuclear myopathies.
1. Maternal exercise during gestation improves short-term pancreatic fonction but seems to have a rather negative effect in adult offspring. 2. The effect High-fat high-sucrose diet in offspring body weight and insulin sensitivity was attenuated by exercise training during gestation. |
