The “Health and Performance Science” (HPS) International Master is a 1-year Master program in Saint Etienne, France, taught entirely in English. This program targets students aiming to pursue doctoral training in physiology or biomechanics. The HPS Master program welcomes French and international students (15 students max) having successfully completed at least the first year of a Master in the fields of Exercise Science or Physical Therapy. The HPS program corresponds to a second year (September to June) of the French Master degree. The two-semester course load (~300h program including ~200h of Lab work) is worth 60 credits according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The second semester (January to June) is fully dedicated to a research internship (~500h). Students who complete this graduate course will be awarded the French national Master degree in Sport Science.
The HPS Master takes place at the Regional Institut of Sports Medecine & Engineering (Institut Régional de Médecine et d’Ingénierie du Sport - IRMIS), on the Health and Innovation Campus of Jean Monnet University. The IRMIS also hosts the Interuniversity Laboratory of Human Movement Biology (LIBM), and is just next to the University Hospital of Saint-Etienne. The students will benefit from all the facilities of the LIBM in Saint Etienne.
