Do we sufficiently prepare athletes for hamstring constraints ?

Hamstrings muscles play a major role in the acceleration performance during sprinting. In addition, the prevalence of initial and recurrent hamstring injuries is substantial in these sports. As such, the rehabilitation and physical preparation of the hamstring muscles is crucial in order to best prepare them for the task of running at high speed. Consequently, the primary objective of this research project will be to characterise the neuromuscular stresses applied to hamstring muscles during exercises conventionally used in rehabilitation and physical preparation. The secondary objective will be to compare the neuromuscular constraints obtained by rehabilitation or preparation with those required during a sprint in order to propose an optimised hamstring muscle preparation program.
