Isabelle ROGOWSKI
A former high-level triathlete, Isabelle Rogowski obtained her doctorate in Sports Science in December 1999 under the direction of Pr Pierre Lanteri and Mr Alain Midol. The results of this thesis entitled "Methodology of experimental research for performance analysis. Contribution to the study of the "Man - Material - Environment" system in the context of sliding sports. "The results of her thesis were enhanced during her postdoctoral years when Isabelle worked in R&D for a Swiss company. In 2003, Isabelle was recruited as a lecturer at the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and defended her Habilitation to Supervise Research in 2019. She was head of the Sports Training Department of the UFRSTAPS of Lyon (2008-2013), member of the Board of Directors of UCBL (2016-2020) and has directed the joint service iCAP (Innovation, Conception and Accompaniment for Pedagogy) since 2016. His work focuses on the athlete's response, through physiological and biomechanical indicators, as a characteristic of a performance achieved in a given environment with fixed or variable equipment in order to optimise performance while seeking to preserve the physical integrity of the athlete. They can be broken down into three areas. The first axis concerns the understanding of sports performance by analysing the determinants of motor performance, and more precisely, the understanding of the adaptive mechanisms of the upper limb, and in particular of the shoulder, to the practice of weapon and contact/collision sports. The second axis concerns the evaluation of risks and mechanisms of injury occurrence by identifying practice-specific maladaptations of the upper limb and shoulder. The third axis aims to design and validate programmes to improve training and prevention processes based on the scientific advances of the first two axes. All these research activities have received broad financial support (Agence Nationale pour la Recherche, Région Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, health organisations, private companies) and are made possible by close collaboration with internationally recognised academic, sports and health players.
